The garden contains a bust of President Reagan and a portion of the Berlin Wall and commemorates Reagan's 1982 "Eureka Speech" where he announced for the first time his goal for a strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START). This speech is considered the beginning of the end for the Cold War.

Two miles northwest of Ohio along Albrecht Road is a stone marker on the site of Dad Joes Tavern, where Abe Lincoln stayed overnight many times traveling between Springfield and Galena.

Wings of Peace and Freedom Park

Nick Tanev, an imigrant to America from Bulgaria, presented the City of Dixon with the "Wings of Peace and Freedom" sculpture as an expression of Mr. Tanev's gratitude to President Reagan for his part in ending the Cold War, and to the city for producing such a strong and courageous leader.
